Banteay Sloek Primary School in Banteay Sloek Village, Chey Chouk Commune, Bourei Cholsar District, Takeo Province, is situated in a low-lying area near the Cambodia-Vietnam border. During the dry season, the village is surrounded by rice fields, whereas in the rainy season, it becomes an isolated island amidst floodwaters; wooden boats serve as the only means of transport for villagers, teachers, and students, making travel extremely difficult and resulting in a shortage of supplies.
Following a site visit, the Cambodia-China Youth General Chamber of Commerce and Golden Charity decided to fund the construction of a three-classroom building for the school; the project was completed in August and officially handed over for use.
