Located in Kporp Trach Village, Chrey Thum Commune, Romeas Haek District, Svay Rieng Province—approximately 140 kilometers from Phnom Penh—this primary school serves 157 students across grades 1 through 6 and employs seven teachers. The school’s facilities consist of one concrete-and-brick building and a wooden classroom building constructed in 1979; after 43 years of exposure to the elements, the latter had deteriorated into a hazardous structure with a leaking roof and walls that offered no protection against the wind.
Following a site visit, the Associate Cambodia Chinese Youth Chamber of Commerce and Golden Charity decided to fund the construction of a new three-classroom building for the school. The project was completed in August and officially handed over for the school’s use.
